For most of the assignments that I undertake the domain names(URL) are already taken by the clients but still my advice is sought for naming the domain of any blog or content or any website. However, there are few ways to select a domain name
One should prefer shorter domain names as they are easier to remember and can fit more characters after the slash(/) for sub pages. While selecting the shorter domain names one must ensure that they are appropriate for search engine result pages(SERPs)
The second major aspect is that the domain names should be easier to type and not contain any complicated spellings that cannot be memorized. Complicated domain names will have a serious dent in brand names and brand images.
While selecting a domain name try to use all possible preferable keywords, add them as either prefixes or suffixes. You need to use multiple permutations and combinations with your keywords to come up with a suitable domain name.
Your domain should be as such to specify the purpose or intentions that match the visitor’s search expectations. For eg Websites such as LuxuryLodgesOfAustralia.com.au and AdelaideLuxuryBeachHouse.com.au make sense as by looking at these website URLs the visitor gets the idea of the site owner’s business.
The entire world may be moving in a herd wherein everybody has a website with misspell name or hyphens still they are attaining the success by having huge traffic and leads but try not to follow the herd and think out of the box to select an appropriate domain name that attracts huge traffic and fulfills your business objectives
For choosing domain names ensure to select a target market that captures maximum visitors from that market to your website. In the case of Australia for instance .com.au denotes the Australian market and .com the US. People usually make this mistake as they consider .com to be the entire world market which is not correct asperse.
